As we await the August 26th opening of Zoe Saldana’s highly-anticipated star turn in the action film Colombiana, Saldana has been out and about, steadily promoting herself and the film.

Two of her more revealing recent interviews, one each to Flaunt and Latina magazines, as reported by the Dailymail.co.uk, have been creating just the type of buzz needed to keep Colombiana in the front of the minds of potential ticket-buyers. In addition to seeing her grace both covers, readers learn, directly from the beautiful star herself, the exact price of fame and A-list status in Hollywood.

Saldana explained to Latina magazine that following the success she experienced in 2009, the year she starred in both Star Trek and Avatar, she suffered a mental breakdown. She told the mag that the stress of work caused her to lose it in a hotel room while getting ready for her next project. That movie was Colombiana.

Saldana told Latina, “I was in Paris training for Colombiana, sitting in my hotel room, and I couldn’t stop crying. I couldn’t stay awake. I must have slept for an entire month.

In her interview with Flaunt magazine, Saldana revealed, “I work in a business where our sole purpose is to entertain. You’re elevated into a position that you become fantasized about. It still blows my mind the whole concept of celebrity, you know? How people just go bananas when they see an actor, just walking down the street or whatever.

But Saldana is not taking her successes for granted. She went on to say, “I just want the best filmmakers in the world to tell me, ‘You’re good, kid, you’re legit.’ The recognition will never get old, and I’ll never get accustomed to it. I don’t ever want to, because that will mean I’m taking it for granted. That’s why I work, not for the luxuries or the awards.
