Although the world was inspired by the spirituality of Whitney Houston’s home going yesterday, unfortunately that Christian love was not extended to ex-husband Bobby Brown.  Brown was invited to the ceremony with a plus 2, but showed up with an entourage of nine.  Sources say Bobby became upset when they wouldn’t seat his party, and his request to sit next to his daughter Bobbi Kristina was vetoed by Whitney’s family.   Rev. Jesse Jackson tried to smooth things over, but in the end Brown opted to leave instead. Later in the day Brown released a statement explaining his abrupt departure:

“I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”

Reporters caught up with Rev Al. Sharpton after the funeral, and asked for his take on the incident.  Watch below for his response:
