Former NBA player Allen Iverson is looking to halt the speeding train that is his impending divorce. Last week, we reported Iverson’s wife requested a list of all the women A.I. slept with while they were married. While that matter hasn’t been resolved, Iverson filed a motion of his own. According to TMZ, A.I. wants his wife’s petition for divorce thrown out of court because he claims they reconciled from November 2011 to February 2012.
The baller says his wife’s divorce petition should be dismissed because he and Tawanna “resumed their marital relationship, cohabiting, having sexual relations and holding themselves out as husband and wife.” Iverson believes the fact the couple resumed a physical and emotional relationship is reason enough to dismiss the divorce petition because Tawanna filed for divorce on the grounds the marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
Although Iverson wanting the judge to dismiss the divorce petition, it’s unclear if Allen wants to reconcile with his estranged wife or if this a stall tactic by Allen’s attorneys to delay paying spousal support. The judge has yet to rule on the matter.
