The rumored split between Mobb Deep’s Havoc and Prodigy has taken another bizarre turn. In a statement sent by Mobb Deep’s publicist, Havoc insists that it is “business as usual” with the group and that his Twitter account has been closed until further notice.

“Just getting back into NY after my Easter weekend with family and friends in Jersey. I left my phone at a gas station yesterday evening while on my way to Jersey after a glorious Knick’s game.  To all Mobb Deep fans: it’s business as usual! It’s Mobb Deep all day!!! My twitter account @THEREALHAVOC will be down until further notice. The only other real account is @PRODIGYMOBBDEEP. Ignore the rest. One!”
Earlier in the day several scathing statements were tweeted from the account disparaging Havoc’s partner Prodigy, who just served three years in prison. Several reports verified that Havoc indeed made the tweets, and that the account was not hacked as most thought. However, this statement contradicts those reports.
For his part, Prodigy stated on his own Twitter account that “I M A FATHER ,AN ADULT, IM NOT HERE TO BEEF IM HERE TO MAKE MUSIC” and then added later “INFAMOUS TILL MY DEATH BOX” with a link to the song “Don’t Be A Follower.”
Havoc’s Twitter account is no longer live but alleged audio of him talking about slapping Prodigy at SXSW has surfaced. Radio hosts the Breakfast Club played it on the air and had a friend Havoc, Noreaga, call in to “verify” the voice on the recording.
UPDATE:
Havoc called into the Breakfast Club to reiterate that he did not send the angry tweets to Prodigy and that he is not the person speaking  in the audio above:
“NORE don’t know me like that,” he said. “NORE is mad cool but he don’t know something to verify something like that.” CLICK HERE TO LISTEN.
