Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg made quite a splash at this year’s Coachella Festival when they performed with a hologram of the late Tupac Shakur. Those close to the slain rapper, like his mother Afeni, were thrilled with the idea and even rappers like Common told TheUrbandaily that they’d use the technology to pay tribute to their fallen friends.

However, others have expressed concern about exploiting the dead and that the novelty of the hologram will wear off if too many people follow suit. The editors at HipHopWired have come up with 5 Reasons they want the hologram rapper to truly rest in peace.

It was amazing. It was groundbreaking. It was a little creepy (we’ll get to that later). It was awe-inspiring. It was all of those things. So why mess up the moment, as Dr. Dre reportedly wants to do, by turning it into a total circus act and taking the show on the road on some Barnum & Bailey ish? That would devalue the moment. Some things are only meant to happen once. If you weren’t there, you just missed it. And that’s the way it should be. Doing it once was epic. Doing it 20 times is overkill. Lord knows.
