Idris Elba has message for the media–please stop asking him about the plight of black actors in Hollywood!  In an interview with Vulture, the British-born thespian was asked about the lack of opportunities for actors of color and quickly set the reporter straight:

“I’m so bored of answering that. Are there differences between black actors’ opportunities and white actors’ opportunities? Yes, there are. It’s been said. I’d rather a young black actor read about success as opposed to how tough it was. I get these roles because I can act and that’s it. Hopefully that’s it. The less I talk about being black, the better.”

Elba can put his money where his mouth is: after copping a Golden Globe for his work on the BBC series “LUTHER”, he’s set to star in the highly anticipated sci-fi thriller Prometheus, and will soon jet over to South Africa to shoot the Nelson Mandela biopic, Long Walk To Freedom after wrapping up No Good Deed, which he’s currently filming in Atlanta.
