Yvette Wilson, star of Moesha and The Parkers, has died.

Yvette Wilson succumbed to her bout with Stage 4 Cervical Cancer early this morning. Wilson had sought financial assistance from fans to pay her growing medical bills. She was also in need of a kidney transplant. Close friend and former Moesha co-star Shar Jackson broke the news of Yvette’s death on Twitter. Fighting through her emotions, Shar tweeted:

“Everyone plz send prayer and light to my sister and best friend Yvette Wilson. I need my prayer soldiers right.”

After a while Shar Jackson tweeted through tears:

“F*ck Cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh God. My heart is soooo unbelievably broken. I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but God has chosen to take my sister Yvette home.”

Wilson will be remembered for her scene stealing roles in the films Friday and  Poetic Justice along with her work on television sitcoms like Moesha, The Parkers, Thea, and Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam.

Our condolences go out to her family and friends. Rest In Peace, Yvette Wilson!
