6)Before he was crafting techno-hand-clap fodder with Joseline, he actually made good music. On top of producing most of 112’s debut album, including “Only You” featuring Notorious B.I.G., Stevie J was one of Puff’s most prolific “Hit Men” creating the beats for “I’ll Be Missing You”, “Mo Money Mo Problems” and “Notorious Thugs.”  Stevie also won Grammys for his work on No Way Out and Mariah’s Butterfly (“Honey”).

5)Used to date Eve
While the timeline is a little fuzzy, somewhere during his 15 years with Mimi Stevie J took the time to tame Ruff Ryders “Pitbull in a skirt.” During the end of their  relationship a video of Eve playing with a sex toy was released, but Stevie J insists that he wasn’t the one who leaked it.

4)Was almost Whoopi Goldberg’s son-in-law
In 2007 was engaged to Alex Martin (daughter of Whoopi Goldberg) who he’d been dating for 6 years. But the two never made it down the aisle.

3)Stevie J is in a Band called the Magnificent 757s with Ray Benzino of Made Men and The Source magazine fame. This explains the rap moguls somewhat random appearances on “Love & Hip-Hop.”

1)That serenade of Mimi was no fluke. Stevie J is as much a singer as he is a producer and was going to release a solo album in the 1990s but changed his mind.  He was also the one who suggested to Puff that Missy rap on Gina Thompson’s “The Things You do.”
