R&B singer turned anatomy professor Brian McKnight says he learned a valuable lesson after the fallout behind his internet video “If Ur Ready To Learn.” McKnight says he learned people aren’t as smart as they think.

Brian McKnight spoke to The Baltimore Sun to promote his recent appearance at Artscape Festival. While being interviewed, he was asked what he thought of local residents angry at his Artscape Festival participation. He assured the paper and fans he would never perform the song at any concert he does. Brian was quoted saying, “Even though people have been asking for it during shows, ‘If Ur Ready to Learn’ is a song that’s musically incredible to me, but it should only be used in the bedroom.”

The “Anytime” singer went on to say, “If I learned anything from this experiment, it’s that people aren’t very smart and they take themselves very seriously.”

It’s a shame people wanted to boycott a festival because Brian McKnight was performing. People are mad over a crass song, but support artists with no talent. That sounds a little backwards to me. However, Brian McKnight needs to fall back with his assessment of people’s level of intelligence.
