Nicki Minaj Leads In American Music Award Nominations

This awards season, Young Money has something to celebrate. Nicki Minaj leads the pack of American Music Award nominations. The only other person to match her is universal pop star Rihanna. They both have four n0minations apiece.

Another reason for the Young Money team to pop bottles is because they are already walking away with an American Music Award. In the category of Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist, the only artists nominated belong to Lil Wayne‘s tribe. Nicki Minaj will battle it out with her fellow Young Money members Tyga and Drake. doesn’t matter who wins this one. You can bet your extra smedium leopard print jeggings all of them will take a trip to the stage when that award winner is announced.

The awards were announced this morning by pop star Christina Aguilera. The producers of the American Music Awards Allen Shapiro, Orly Adelson and Larry Klein said, “The 40th American Music Awards will once again represent the epitome of pop culture featuring today’s biggest stars and music icons all on one stage.”
