According to USA Today, The Los Angeles Lakers have fired head coach Mike Brown after the team got off to a 1 and 4 start.  This comes just one day after  General Manager Jim Buss gave Brown a vote of confidence and Kobe Bryant played down any tension with his coach.

Expectations were high in L.A. after  assembling a super team  in the off season that included  Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. However, The Lakers have only managed one win in this young season thus far. There has been no announcement about who would replace Brown.

According to Lakers forward Metta World peace, nobody should feel bad for Mike Brown because he walked away with a nice severance package. World Peace told TMZ cameras, “That’s a nice check man … he got $11 million … great career, still young … he’s gonna have more jobs and more opportunities to coach. I played for him for years in Indiana … so Mike Brown, he’s dope … shout out to Mike Brown.”

Were the Lakers too quick to let Brown go?
