Chris Columbus will helm the adventure/fantasy Percy Jackson, about the titular schoolboy (played by Logan Lerman) whose world is turned upside-down when he discovers that his father is actually the Greek god Poseidon.
The Story kicks off with Percy becoming the prime suspect when Zeus’ master lightning bolt is stolen. The boy has just 10 days to find and return the stolen property to bring peace to the warring gods. Jackson will play Percy’s best friend Grover, a satyr.
Jackson’s credits include “Tropic Thunder,” “The Day the Earth Stood Still” and the upcoming “Tooth Fairy.” He was named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” in 2008.
