After sitting out the first two regular season games for the Philadelphia Eagles, Michael Vick will take the field today against the Kansas City Chiefs. Even though starting quarterback Donovan McNabb is out with a rib injury, Vick is still behind QB Kevin Colb on the depth chart and will not start at that position.

Vick is expected to run Philadelphia’s version of the wildcat offense. He might take a few snaps at quarterback and line up as a receiver or running back. It will be his first regular season action in 33 months.

“My role is my role right now. I don’t know what the situation is or may be,” Vick told the Associated Press. “Right now, I’m just a guy to come in and run my package.”

The former Atlanta Falcon served 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to federal dog fighting charges in 2007.

Vick received his first taste of playing time during the preseason against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Check the clip below for fan reaction.
