Lyfe Jennings has become a “Statistic” once again.

According to Tweets from friends of Lyfe Jennings and the artist himself, the R&B singer will be going to prison for three years.

“This will be my last post” Jennings wrote on his twitter page. “To everyone who gave me a chance I am forever in your debt. I have had a fabulous career because of you. All I can say in parting is that I have been honest with [ya’ll]. I didn’t sugarcoat a word didn’t hold back a single [syllable] of my life from [ya’ll]. I’ve lived a hundred lives in these 6 yrs so I not only won’t,I don’t have the right to complain. I would like to think that I’ve changed lives by changing my own, tho[ugh] I can’t be sure. But one thing I am sure of is God gives and takes away in measure. He is fair, just and forever. Amen from a man… Smile, its contageous:)”

Jennings served a previous jail term in 1992 for Arson. The numbers “268-192” attached to the end of his debut album represent the identification number he was given while incarcerated.

His up-coming incarceration stems from a 2008 incident with the mother of his child. He was arrested in Georgia and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, attempting to elude authorities, criminal trespass, discharging a firearm near a public highway and refusal to take a DUI test.

That note was followed up by messages from Jermaine Dupri writing “They gave life 3 years today, damn!”

Once appearing in court Jennings was contrite saying that, “I did it and I should be punished for it.”

In a past interview with KYSDC, Jennings said that his next album would be his last, leading some to think that he had a feeling he would be going away again. Watch and let us know what you think.
