Below you’ll find a new trailer for a buddy-cop comedy titled The Guard, which co-stars Don Cheadle as a fish-out-of-water FBI agent sent to a small Irish town to hunt down members of an international drug smuggling ring. He does so with the assistance of a local cop, played by Brendan Gleeson – an Archie Bunker-type, with more smarts and courage than he initially leads on.
The film will be released by Sony Pictures Classics on July 29th.
I saw it when it debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and I enjoyed it. It’s well acted and produced with enough laughs, twists and thrills (including murder, blackmail, drug trafficking, police corruption, and more) to keep the audience entertained.
