(via The Hollywood Reporter) This past Thursday, director Spike Lee sat down with journalist Charlie Rose for a Q&A session at PromaxBDA (an annual marketing, branding and design conference) in NYC.  Spike was at the the conference to receive the organization’s lifetime achievement award for his work in film and television, in particular his series of Nike commericals featuring Michael Jordan.

Lee shared his discontent with the Oscars and the Academy’s voting practices, Barack Obamas’s re-election prospects, and why he hasn’t been able to secure funding for a sequel to Inside Man, even with A-listers Denzel Washington and Jodie Foster attached to the project.  Inside Man is Spike Lee’s most commercially successful movie to date, grossing $184 million worldwide.
