Since its release in 1999, movie fans have argued over the various “inspirations” for The Matrix, the sci-fi thriller starring Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne about a computer-generated dream world. The Wachaowski’s even found themselves tangled in a lawsuit over similarities between their story and one of a writer named Sophia Stewart. One thing is certain, they definitely got their visual and plot cues from a LOT of different people.
