In an interview with Hello Beautiful, actor Brian White had some choice words about reality TV and some of its stars — namely NeNe Leakes. The actor mentioned the reality personality while dismissing the notion that Tyler Perry perpetuates negative stereotypes about black women in his films.
He said, “You can’t call it a stereotype if it’s the majority. The most prevalent image in “urban society” right now is women like Nene [Leaks].” While answering a separate question, he made it a point to say that none of the women in his family behave like The Real Housewives of Atlanta star.
Though NeNe didn’t call out Brian directly, she did address the comments via Twitter:
“Housewives of the A & Hip Hop wives r 2 very different shows! I dont recall seeing fist fights on our show! I however do watch their show
Actors feel some type of way when Reality Stars work n their field! I started out actin first! I didn’t make the rules I just play by them
