Lil’ Wayne says the skating community has brought an element of fun that he presumably feels was missing from his music. He made the comments in an episode of MTV’s new show, Hip Hop POV, set to air at midnight on Wednesday. Weezy’s love of skaters has been noted in recent years, but when asked to expound on the camaraderie he shares with them a bit, he said the hobby and the people he’s met because of it has afforded him a new perspective with respect to “attitudes and alliances” as it pertains to his music.

Indeed, Wayne claims to have befriended the “funnest and coolest” people.

Fret not, though, “rap friends,” because Wayne still loves you, noting that “I would pop a bottle with you guys any day. “I would make it rain with you any day, brother,” the rapper and label head added.

Still, when it comes to skaters, he says “these kids that come from the skate world, it is so different and so awesome. I can just let it all be. I don’t even wear jewelry no more.”
