As Nas continues the build up to his newest album, Life Is Good, the Queens MC offers a sequel to 1997’s  “Black Girl Lost” from his sophomore album, It Was Written.

Titled “Another Black Girl Lost” Nas updates the tragic story of misguided female adolescents in the ‘hood over a Hit-Boy (“Niggas In Paris”) instrumental.

Much like the original (loosely based on the novel by Donald Goines) the lyrics vacillate between praising black girls for who they are while chastising them for suspect behavior. Almost as if he realizes how bipolar he sounds at times, Nas attempts to clean it up with:

This song ain’t to poke fun at you to get laughs, I just love you, really love you, here for you, wanna trust you, wanna cuff you, be my lady…but first I gotta see the baby..”

Check it out for yourself….

Listen to the original “Black Girl Lost” below and tell us what you think of the newer version.
