If you’re not having fun at the movies part of the blame lies with the MPAA or Motion Picture Association Of America. As the guardian against all things offensive the MPAA has outlawed many images at the movies over the years. Some of their decisions are quite appropriate (like banning under age nudity) but at times change some of their rules come off as a bit silly and even downright ridiculous.

In 1927, the MPAA (or, as it was known at the time, the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America) produced a list of “The Dont’s and Be Carefuls,” a rundown of things that should be avoided in future movies. Among the restrictions were scenes of actual childbirth, ridicule of the clergy and white slavery.
My things have changed.
