Tim Duncan is the Toyota Camry of the NBA; one of the best out there, wins awards, but goes totally unnoticed. His name alone is the cure for insomnia if you are not a diehard San Antonio Spurs fan or fantasy sports nut, but his accomplishments in the NBA are undeniable.

Duncan’s four championship rings put him among the elite but his game is the opposite of flash and the 36-year-old is allergic to drama.  His low profile makes him consistently overlooked when conversations of “Greatest of all time” come up but the stats don’t lie.

Since 1997 he’s averaged 20 points per game, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks while draining 1 out of 2 of his buckets. Then there is the jewelry. His classmates, with the exception of Chauncey Billups, have never been close enough to the O’Brien trophy to breath on it. So if he manages to win a fifth ring with The Spurs this year (which is very possible) would that make him as good as or better than Kobe Bryant?

The folks at TheSmokingSection.net plead Timmy’s case in this OP-ED HERE.
