How tall is Floyd Mayweather, Jr.? Mayweather is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and while the superstar boxer’s height isn’t apt to change much, his weight has varied over the years. Mayweather, aka Money, has won titles in the super featherweight, lightweight, light welterweight, welterweight, and light middleweight divisions. He’s been rated the best fighter in the world by numerous sports publications, and in June 2012, he edged out Tiger Woods to top Forbes magazine’s list of highest-paid athletes. No wonder they call him Money.

At 5 feet, 8 inches, Mayweather is taller than his most recent opponent, Miguel Cotto (5 feet, 7 inches), and while the extra height might have given Money an edge, he does just fine against bigger boxers. In September 2011, Money beat Victor Ortiz, who’s listed at 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and in May of the previous year, he defeated Shane Mosley, whose 5-foot, 8.5-inch should have given him a slight advantage.

How does Mayweather stack up against history’s most famous prizefighters? Mike Tyson is 5 feet, 10 inches; Muhammad Ali was 6 feet, 3 inches, according to most sources; and George Foreman was listed at 6 feet, 4 inches tall. Compared to those legendary pugilists, Mayweather is tiny, but as everyone knows, it’s not the size of the boxer in the fight—it’s the size of the fight in the boxer. And while Money is far shorter than the average American male, who stands about 5 feet, 10.5 inches tall, he could knock the average American male out cold in about three seconds, then buy all of the punched-out sucker’s possessions with the money stuck between the seats of his car.
