Nas is back where he belongs. After releasing his tenth album Life Is Good, Nas is sitting on top of the Billboard charts.

Mostly produced by No I.D. and Salaam Remi, Life is Good sold 149,000 copies in its first week of release. The project is Nas’ sixth album to debut atop the charts. As for the Hip-Hop/R&B charts, Life Is Good is the ninth debuting chart topper for the rapper from Queensbridge. Nas tweeted his excitement, “#LifeisGood is the #1 album in the country!!!” Nasir Jones took his victory lap in the form of a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Fans and critics alike have called Life Is Good, Nas’ best album since his classic debut album Illmatic. Nas’ latest album debuted higher than his 2010 collaborative album with Damian Marley. Life Is Good posted double the numbers of Distant Relatives. the reggae/hip-hop fusion album debuted on the charts at number five.

Congratulations to Nas and his triumphant return to the top of the Billboard charts. This is the album fans have been asking for since Illmatic.
