Being labeled a “snitch” in the hip-hop industry is damn near worse than being a terrible rapper. At least if you’re a bad rapper, somebody will take pity on you and might try to help you get your rhymes up. If you’re hit with the snitching allegations, you can consider yourself dead in the water. There have been a few industry insiders that have watched their careers go down the drain.

Lil Cease allegedly snitched on Lil Kim

In 2005, the snitch label was placed on Junior M.A.F.I.A rapper Lil Cease after he took the stand in Lil’ Kim’s perjury trial. The case stemmed from a shootout incident that occurred between Kim’s camp and Capone’s crew outside of Hot97’s studio in February 2001. Due in part to Cease’s testimony Queen B was convicted of perjury and conspiracy for lying to investigators, and sentenced to a year in prison. Though B.I.G.’s former protégé claimed he had no choice but to take the stand because he was subpoenaed by the FEDS, many dubbed him a rat.
