James “J Dilla” Yancey is one of the most prolific producers ever to touch the hip-hop game. He was at the helm of songs for many of your favorite artists like Erykah Badu, Common, and A Tribe Called Quest.

Sadly, Dilla succumbed to Lupus in 2006. While Dilla’s passing was a great loss to hip-hop, many of his former collaborators and friends continue to keep his music and legacy alive. The Roots leader and DJ Questlove did just that when he had a gig spinning at New York City’s hot spot Boiler Room. Questo spun a full hour of nothing but J Dilla beats and productions.
