The 2013 Academy Awards may get another dose of hip-hop and R&B at this year’s ceremony. Rick Ross, John Legend, and Anthony Hamilton have all been named on the shortlist of possible nominees for Best Original Song.

Reports have surfaced stating Rick Ross’ contribution to the “Django Unchained” soundtrack “100 Black Coffins” was added to the shortlist. However, the shortlist isn’t exactly short this year. Along with John Legend’s song “Who Did That To You” and Hamilton’s “Freedom,” there are 72 other songs in the running for an Oscar nomination. The songs by Legend and Hamilton are also found on the “Django Unchained” soundtrack.

Other artist being considered for an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song are Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake,” Adele’s “Skyfall” theme song, and The Black Keys’ “Baddest Man Alive.”

The final nominees for the 2013 Oscars will be announced January 10th.
