In an interview with Sway In The Morning, The Fat Boys Prince Markie Dee takes a trip down memory lane and recalls the early days of his group touring with RUN-DMC, the death of his partner Darren “Buff Love” Robinson and his new career in radio.

His group’s legacy:
“[Hearing my old music] takes me back. It’s almost like having an old high school yearbook of yourself. It takes me a back to a time when hip-hop was fun for me as an artist. In the beginning we were just like a regular rap group but then we added the twist of being funny. ”
Weight Loss:
“[Buff ]and I had a two-hour conversation before he died. I said get healthy and we’ll do another record. I couldn’t get a grip on my weight til about four or five years ago. I was 430 lbs. I took my son to a Dolphins game and by the time I walked from the car to our seats I was out of breath. [Since then] I’ve lost 175 lbs. ”
