Everyone knows that a mind is a terrible thing to waste. Quarterback for the Carolina Panthers Cam Newton is making sure he doesn’t waste his education. He’s returning to college during the NFL’s off season.

Cam Newton is re-enrolling at Auburn university after ditching the educational institution to enter in the draft. He was the overall number one draft pick in 2011. When the spring semester begins, Newton will resume his pursuit of a sociology degree.

In case you didn’t know, Cam Newton signed a 4-year contract with the Carolina Panthers worth $22 million. Over the course of his NFL career, he has also landed quite a few major endorsements. Despite his movement to a higher tax bracket, Cam only wants his education.

When the Associated Press asked for a comment from the university, a rep said they would not be speaking to the media about Newton’s decision because “he just wants to focus on being a normal student.”
