I’ve mentioned before how personal “Stay” must be to Rihanna. Whenever she performs the ballad, you can tell it resonates deep in her soul. The lyrics could be about Chris Brown or about a love we know nothing about. Whatever it is, it trickles out from Rihanna like a leaky faucet.
The video for “Stay” follows Ri Ri’s impressive performance at the 2013 Grammy Awards. The clipshows the Bajan beauty at her most vulnerable time. She is stripped down and makeup-less as she sings along to the penetrating words. The clip closes out with Rihanna shedding a single tear.
Mikky Ekko, who wrote the song, makes an appearance in the simple vid.
