It was another tough day in Atlanta, GA where the funeral of Kris Kross rapper Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly was held today.  The church was filled with family and friends including the members of Xscape and Keke Wyatt who all sang as well as Da Brat and Jermaine Dupri who wore their pants backward in tribute to Kelly.

And of course Chris “Daddy Mac” Smith was in attendance. He understandably had a hard time saying goodbye to his close friend of so many years.

Said Smith;

“It’s been like a struggle for me every day, I know Chris is in heaven. He was a true friend, I just wanna say I love you man and I’m gonna miss you dearly. My life  … it ain’t ever gonna be the same, but I just hope our legacy for hip-hop is never forgotten. I’m gonna do my part to make sure Chris’ legacy will live on.”

See his heart wrenching tribute to his Kris Kross brother via TMZ below.

We hope that all parties can begin the healing process tonight, and that both Chris Kelly and Chris Smith knows, they could never be forgotten. They brought a joy and innocence to Hip Hop that had not been there in such a big way before them. Kids and adults alike will be listening to them for generations to come. And those future generations will do what the rest of did back then and still do now when we hear the two rhyming on those familiar songs, they will all smile and be better for having listened

Again our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly. May he rest well.
