Where is Michael Ealy from? Michael Ealy was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Silver Springs, Maryland. As Ealy told the Wall Street Journal, he had a “very middle class upbringing” reminiscent of “The Cosby Show.” His mother worked for IBM, and his father was in the grocery business, and when it came time to attend college, the future “Almost Human” star planned to study architecture.

Where is Michael Ealy from? He’s from the type of family that lets him change his mind. As a sophomore at the University of Maryland, College Park, he appeared in an 8mm student film shot by some friends of his, and just like that, he knew what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. After graduating in 1996, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting.

At this point, few were asking the question “where is Michael Ealy from?” because he spent his first few years toiling in relative obscurity, appearing in off-Broadway plays. His fortunes changed in 2001, when he nabbed the role of Greg in “Kissing Jessica Stein.” The following year, he appeared in “Bad Company” and “Barbershop,” and just like that, he was off and running. Ealy’s film credits include “2 Fast 2 Furious” (2003), “Barbershop 2: Back In Business” (2004), “Underworld: Awakening” (2012), “Think Like a Man” (2012), and “Last Vegas” (2013).

He’s also made inroads on television, and its thanks to his role as Dorian on “Almost Human” that sci-fi fans around the world are suddenly curious about his past and asking, “Where is Michael Ealy from?” Prior to “Almost Human,” Ealy appeared on “Californication,” “The Good Wife,” and “Sleeper Cell,” among other shows.

“What I do doesn’t cure cancer,” he said in an interview with the University of Maryland’s Terp magazine. “I know now that I don’t have to take it or myself so seriously. It’s been liberating.”
