Rapper 50 Cent is all about moving on. Once he conquered the world of music, he tried his hand at acting and producing. Now that 50 has done all he planned to do at Interscope Records, 50 Cent has left the label that gave him his big break for greener pastures known as Capitol Records.

The abrupt announcement comes a day after XXL Magazine recreated the famous cover of Dr. Dre, Eminem, and 50 Cent, but swapping out 50 for Interscope’s man in charge, Jimmy Iovine. Although 50 Cent had been alluding to his departure for some time, nobody really saw it coming. 50’s friend and former boss, Eminem, released a statement regarding the matter:

“Both myself and Shady Records are grateful to have had the chance to play a part in 50′s career. Shady simply would not be what it is without 50 Cent. I’ve developed a great friendship with 50 over the years, and that’s not going to change. We know 50 will have success in his new situation, and we remain supporters of both him and G-Unit.”

The deal that 50 Cent signed with Capitol Records puts him in a new place in his career. for the first time since he signed with Interscope 13 years ago, 50 will be an independent artist. The first project to come out under the Capitol label will be the G-Unit leader’s upcoming album “Animal Ambition.” The record is set to drop on June 3rd, but you can pre-order the album starting March 18th.

The relationship between 50 Cent and Capitol Records should be interesting considering 50 Cent was almost signed to the label quite a few times in the early 2000s. But Eminem and Interscope scooped him up first. Cheers to 50 Cent regaining his top spot in the music game.
