Where is Ciara from? Ciara is from Austin, Texas, where she was born on October 25, 1985. As a young girl, the future R&B superstar didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the Lone Star State, however. Her father was in the U.S. Army, and she grew up on bases in Germany, New York, Utah, and Arizona. Ciara spent her teenage years in Atlanta, where she decided one day after watching Destiny’s Child on TV that she wanted to pursue a career in music. Her first foray into the business came via the girl group Hear’Say, but creative differences ultimately sank the group, setting the stage for her solo career.

Fans not acquainted with Hear’Say have likely been asking, “Where is Ciara from?” since 2004, when she dropped her debut LP, “Goodies.” The album’s title track topped the charts, and subsequent singles “1, 2 Step” and “Oh” fared nearly as well, establishing Ciara as a force to be reckoned with on the R&B scene. She’s since released four albums: “Ciara: The Evolution,” “Fantasy Ride,” “Basic Instinct,” and “Ciara.” That last one, issued on Epic, featured collaborations with Nicki Minaj and Future and helped get her career back on track following a dip in popularity.

Where is Ciara from? She’s apparently from a family that’s taught her something about ambition. As she said in a 2010 interview with Wonderland magazine, she doesn’t just want to be a pop singer. She’s hoping to emerge as a brand.

“I care about the music, that’s my passion, sure it is,” she said. “But whenever I speak to my team I tell them to go out and get the money. I’m serious! I want to create a Ciara brand that will be here when I’m not, that will feed my family and create a legacy they can live on, bringing money in to the people I love…”
