Has Big Sean ever been arrested? Indeed, rapper Big Sean was arrested in Lewiston, New York, on August 4, 2011, and charged with “forcible touching, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and third-degree sex abuse,” according to the Niagara Gazette. According to reports, a 17-year-old fan claimed she’d been assaulted following a show at Artpark State Park, and several months later, in October 2011, Big Sean and friend Willie Hansbro struck deals with the authorities, pleading guilty to single counts of second-degree unlawful imprisonment.

“This was a fair resolution to the victim which allowed us to get a criminal conviction and an acceptance of responsibility for what occurred that night,” the deputy district attorney, Holly Sloma, said after Sean and Willie had copped their plea deals, according to the Niagara Gazette. “This will allow the victim to move forward, which is what she wants to do.”

By accepting the plea deal, Big Sean was able to beat the third-degree sexual-assault charges, and he wound up paying a $750 fine. “I hope you understand your attorneys did a good job on your behalf,” the judge presiding over the case told Sean. “And that you’ll be more careful about what you do in the future.”

Big Sean’s 2011 arrest doesn’t seem to have left much of a smudge on his career, though. In August 2013, he released his sophomore effort, the follow-up to 2011’s “Finally Famous,” and the album proved a huge hit, reaching no. 3 on the Billboard 200. Following his arrest, Big Sean has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the hip-hop, R&B, and pop fields, including Justin Bieber, Juicy J, Lil Wayne, and Drake. In October 2013, news broke that Big Sean was engaged to marry actress Naya Rivera, so with luck, his days of getting arrested and facing charges like the ones lobbied against him in the summer of 2011 are well behind him.
