Where is Justin Bieber from? Justin Bieber is from Ontario, Canada — the city of London, to be precise. The Biebs was born on March 1, 1994, and he grew up in the town of Stratford, Ontario, where he was raised primarily by his mother, Patricia “Pattie” Mallette. Pattie had gotten pregnant at 17, and she Justin’s father, Jeremy Jack Bieber, never married. As a youngster, Justin Bieber showed interest in sports and chess, and it wasn’t until he reached adolescence that he revealed his talent for music. At the age of 12, he placed second in a singing contest, and video of him doing a rendition of Ne-Yo’s “So Sick” wound up on YouTube. Bieber has that website to thank for his fame, as it’s how manager Scooter Bruan discovered him and realized the kid was destined to be a star. Braun got Bieber’s music in the hands of R&B giant Usher, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Justin Bieber has certainly transcended his hometown roots, as this kid from London, Ontario, has gone from Canadian phenom to global superstar. All three of his studio albums — “My World 2.0,” “Under the Mistletoe,” and “Believe” — have topped the Billboard 200, and he’s sold more than 15 million records around the world. He’s also appeared on a number of TV shows, and in 2013, he starred in the concert film “Justi Bieber’s Believe.”

Of course, given his recent brushes with the law, fans are less concerned with where Justin Bieber is from than they are worried about where he’s heading. In January 2014, he was arrested in Toronto and charged with assaulting a limo driver, and because that happened just hours after he plead not guilty to drunk driving in Florida, people began to fear the 19-year-old Canadian had gone off the rails. Here’s hoping the Biebs follows in the footsteps of such responsible Canadian pop stars as Drake, Bryan Adams, and Alanis Morissette and keeps his career moving forward.
