Dre Apple Beats

Wow this is breathtaking! According to MashableApple is close to buying Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion! Well ding ding dong…ring a ding ding dong to that!

The deal would mark Apple’s largest acquisition to date and Dr. Dre will become the most legendary rapper turned businessman who ever lived if it happens!

Beats By Dre was founded by rapper Dr. Dre and famed producer Jimmy Iovine. The company sells headphones and it’s technology can already be found in computers and cellphones alike.

Earlier this year Beats launched a music streaming service similar to Spotify as well.

The deal could be announced as soon as next week and as part of the acquisition Apple would acquire both the company’s audio hardware and streaming service.

Beats could provide Apple with additional talent and resources for designing hardware like wearable devices. The deal could be also useful in helping Apple to improve iTunes and iTunes Radio in particular, and better adapt as consumers shift from downloads to streaming.

There has been no word yet from either company about the alleged merger.
