When it comes to male R&B singers, you know they are most likely going to talk about one thing–sex. But what happened to the other parts of love and relationships? Indie R&B singer Bradd Marquis is here to bring the love back to Soul/R&B music. When you talk to Marquis about the current state of R&B, he says, “Today’s music is over-ego or over-sex. There isn’t a conversation about what went wrong, why people do what they do in relationships. Where are the songs saying we’re all still learning?”

Well, with his single “Break Up (Remix)” featuring Tess Henley, Bradd Marquis answers his own question. He delivers a song about the grey area in a relationship where you don’t know if you and tour partner are going to break up or work together to make the relationship work. We can all attest to have confusing that state of suspension is and Marquis’ uptempo captures the feeling beautifully.
