When you ask “LaLa’s Full Court Life” co-star Po Johnson if there’s a line she wouldn’t go beyond, the answer comes quick and easy. “I haven’t come across that line yet… That line disappeared a long time ago,” She says with a quiet smile. “If there is something that I won’t do or tell the world I won’t do, I haven’t figured that out yet,” she says with a chuckle. “Put it like that!”

While millions of viewers have witnessed the fearless lifestyle acted out in the visuals for her “Do It Again” video and millions more  are quite familiar with the cute girl who popped up on LaLa Anthony‘s couch and never left, the causal watcher of the show based around the life and times of former MTV VJ, wouldn’t know that the carefree girl from the couch who’s “trying to sing now” was actually an actress/singer/songwriter who went to college for production management. But Po doesn’t think that info will make it off the cutting room floor.

“The show doesn’t talk about me being in production because that’s not the story that I think VH-1 wants to tell,” she admits. “But that’s why I love doing interviews like that because you get to know me.”

Po had every intention of continuing to persue her college major when she arrived in New York from Clark University in Atlanta. She had a job as an intern and was looking for a steady gig in between crashing studio sessions of friends in NY. But when the hunt took a little longer than expected, fate placed her in LaLa’s hands, and on her couch.

“That was my plan… which wasn’t very well thought out,” she admits laughing “But I am very blessed to have a friend like La to let me lay on her couch for as long as I needed to.”

Well with couch time officially behind her and success firmly in front of her, Po is hard at work pushing her new single “Monsters” and finishing the writing for her debut project on Tommy Boy Records. And for the million plus who loved the visuals for “Do It Again,” the album is sure to be a treat.

“You know, life has a tendency to be too short so its important that everybody be their free selves,” she says  of the upcoming LP. “And sometimes, well my free self is a little sexual, a little freaky, so I’m not ashamed of it.”

With four brothers, two sisters, this daughter of a preacher man has a full house of faces to turn red once they press play. And while she’s considerate of her clan, and hopes they understand, the show must and will go on. “I mean my main thing in the back of my mind is to respect my family and respect my mother but my mother’s pretty liberal,” she says breaking into a laugh. “I probably sound like… I don’t know what I sound like but I’m just being honest!” And that’s all we ask.
