Well this was unexpected…

As the 2014 NBA Draft creeps up on us,  a few key players have decided to opt out of their contracts and become free agents. Recently, Carmelo Anthony became yet another NBA player in search of a new domain.

In a recent interview after performing at WCGI’s Summer Jam, R. Kelly sat down and talked about sports. After admitting to rooting for the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, Kelz got on his knees and said he would “love it if Melo would come to Chicago.” Making matters a bit more awkward, the controversial king of R&B offered to write Carmelo a theme song before ultimately belting a tune out for Melo.

Whelp, we doubt he’ll start penning a theme song for Lebron to come to Chicago anytime soon…

Check out the interview around the 6:30 mark to hear R.Kelly’s cry for Melo.
