Troubled actor Columbus Short can’t seem to keep himself out of trouble. Over the Independence Day weekend, Short was arrested for public intoxication after he and a group of friends got into an altercation with the bouncer of the establishment they were at. However, Short recently gave an interview with “Access Hollywood” where he denied any wrongdoing in his most recent arrest.
When “Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush asked the former “Scandal” star to explain what happened leading up to his arrest on the Fourth of July. Columbus Short responded, “There was no fight. I was involved in no fight. I was with a group of people that were eating, I went to the bathroom, I came back and there was an altercation ensuing when I came back. And me being [like] ‘Whoa, let’s break it up,’ it was a misunderstanding and I guess the cops thought I was someone involved in the situation…and then they grabbed me up, and by the time I was on the ground… I apologized to the officers later…[but] I said some pretty choice words [when] I was already in cuffs. But you know, by the end of it all, it all went away.”
While Short is still in the middle of a bitter divorce with his estranged wife, is not trying to be associated with anymore bad press. Short concluded his explanation of the incident with, ““It’s over, we’re moving forward and upward. One of those bad nights, it sucks.”
