According to Hip Hop Wired, rapper Meek Mill‘s lawyers filed a petition on Thursday, July 17 seeking an emergency hearing within three days in order to free their client. However, Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley said her schedule won’t be free until September. This is the same judge who sentenced Meek to three to six months in jail for a parole violation.

Meek’s lawyers say Judge Brinkley rejected their request to have another judge hear the case.

So now the lawyers are scrambling to figure out where they should go from here. They also reportedly believe that the rapper’s jail sentence is “unconstitutional.”

Brinkley revoked Meek’s bail because he was posing with a gun on social media. That in addition to allegedly disparaging his probation officer sent the wheels into motion and he was taken into custody.

This is all bad everything as it pertains to Meek’s album promotion schedule. The Maybach Music Group rapper is missing out on a lot of money while he remains locked up because he is unable to promote his new project. The new album is called, Dreams Worth More Than Money and it is due out in stores on September 9th.
