Adult Swim Premieres “Mike Tyson Mysteries”
Possibly due to the success of Afrocentric series like “Black Dynamite” and “The Boondocks,” Adult Swim is now working closely with Iron Mike himself on a new animated series. Tyson will star as the head of a Hannah-Barbara style mystery team complete with a ghost sidekick, Asian computer genius, and a binge drinking pigeon. Jabberjaw, this is not. “Mad Max: Fury Road” Trailer
Warner Bros. is bringing “Mad Max” back from the dead and showed off a lengthy trailer starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, and Zoe Kravitz in the post-apocalyptic desert space. If there’s any old franchise that’s better suited to today’s post apocalypse obsessed pop culture, I don’t know about it.
“The Walking Dead” Season 5 Trailer
Everyone’s favorite band of scrappy survivors are coming back to AMC for a fifth season and if this latest trailer is any indication, it’s going to be its most brutal yet. It’s clear that Rick, Michonne, and company have formed a shaky alliance with the people of Terminus, so the blood and the walkers are sure to be in good supply this season. The Walking Dead is back on October 12.
Godzilla and King Kong Returning To The Screen
In the wake of “Pacific Rim” and the new “Godzilla” bringing life (and massive profits) back into the giant monster genre, Legendary Pictures announced their plans to bring Godzilla back for a sequel and the other King of The Monsters, King Kong, back to the screen for the second time. Yes, Peter Jackson brought the character back very recently, but you see where this is going, right? Kong’s new flick, subtitled “Skull Island,” and the new Godzilla are both set to release in 2016, so I wouldn’t be surprised if a Godzilla/Kong mash-up is in the pipeline for Legendary.
