According to The Hollywood Reporter, BET ordered six episodes of Keyshia Cole’s untitled half-hour series. The show will be a window into what Cole’s life is like as she transitions into being a single mother, her music career and dealing with the family issues that were never resolved on her previous two BET shows. The multi-platinum R&B star first allowed fans into her life with “Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is” and later into her marriage to former NBA player Daniel “Boobie” Gibson with “Keyshia & Daniel: Family First.”
Since Keyshia Cole has had two previous reality shows, it’s not a surprise she would step back into that arena. However, the intensely private rapper Nelly has shocked everyone by signing on to do a reality show. Nelly’s show, which is still untitled, will follow the rapper as he moves his music career forward, puts his stamp on the world of fashion as a businessman, and parents his biological children along with his late sister’s kids. Nelly must balance all of this while maintaining a relationship with Miss Jackson, Floyd Mayweather‘s ex-girlfriend.
On the spiritual side of things, “Meet the Browns” cast members David and Tamela Mann. The Manns’ series will show the couple interacting with their four adult children, going to exclusive industry events, and hanging out with some of their famous friends. The couple, who have been married for 26 years, became famous after working with Kirk Franklin and Tyler Perry.
Senior VP of Original Programming, Charlie Jordan Brookins stated, “These three shows are led by talent that our audience connects with but are also very different shows. We’re excited about these new shows. What BET does is give the audience what they’ve been looking for.”
