Rape allegations against Bill Cosby had nothing to do with the cancellation of the sitcom veteran’s scheduled appearance on “The Queen Latifah Show.” At least not from the show’s point of view.

MUST READ: Actress Barbara Bowman Details Years Of Alleged Rape By Bill Cosby

A statement released to thegrio.com said that Cosby’s cancellation was done at his request.“Mr. Cosby’s scheduled appearance on The Queen Latifah Show was postponed at his request and was in no way related to any of our recent or upcoming scheduled guests,” the statement read.

News of the postponement counters a report from TMZ, which stated that the allegations were the reason why Queen Latifah and her talk show staff cancelled Cosby’s appearance.

The postponement is the latest development to occur since comedian Hannibal Buress referenced sexual assault allegations made against Cosby by 13 different women while calling Cosby a rapist during his stand-up set in Philadelphia earlier this month.

Actress Barbara Bowan spoke out about the situation days after Burress set as she detailed how Cosby repeatedly raped her beginning when she was 17-years-old, while he playing a father-figure role in her life.

“I was drugged and raped by that man,” Bowan told MailOnline. “He is a monster. He came at me like a monster. My hope is that others who have experienced sexual abuse will not be intimidated into silence by the famous, rich and powerful. If I can help one victim, then I’ve done my job.”

Although he was never criminally charged with sexual assault, Cosby settled a lawsuit for an undisclosed amount with one of the women.
