The maelstrom of sexual assault allegations surrounding Bill Cosby continued this week with a shocking Vanity Fair column written by Beverly Johnson. In response, Cosby made more vague, indirect comments in reference to the claims. This time it was for the New York Post.

Instead of outright denying the charges, Cosby again directed his attention to media coverage. He said:

I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind.

Cosby told this to Stacy Brown, a black reporter. The New York Post also noted that Cosby was “upbeat” when he made the comments.

Although the “black media” bit is new, Cosby has constantly defended himself by focusing on journalistic credibility. He questioned AP‘s “integrity” when a reporter popped the question during an on-camera interview. The 77-year-old later told Florida Today that people should fact check. Meanwhile, the storm continues.
