The A$AP Mob

With news of A$AP Yams’ death, his peers within the Hip Hop community and the music industry at large are publicly celebrating the life of the man fellow A$AP Mob member A$AP Rocky called a ‘mastermind behind the scenes.’ Yams, whose real name was Steven Rodriguez, served as the co-owner of the ASAP Worldwide label and also used his Yamborghini imprint to spread awareness about independent artists and Hip Hop’s youth culture. Yams served as the co-executive producer of A$AP Rocky’s Long.Live.A$AP and A$AP Ferg’s Trap Lord albums, and both Polo Grounds and RCA released statements about Yams’ passing.

‘All of us at RCA Records are shocked and saddened to hear of the death of A$AP Yams,’ read a written statement from RCA. ‘As one of the creative forces behind A$AP Worldwide, Yams’ vision, humor and dedication to the members of A$AP Mob will always be remembered. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.’

Extending similar condolences, Polo Grounds Music released the following statement:
