The insensitive remarks Fashion Police contributor Giuliana Rancic made about Zendaya Coleman’s dreadlock extensions during the Oscars may still be causing fallout at the E! network. In a brief statement Friday afternoon, E! announced Kelly Osbourne will be leaving the show to pursue other opportunities. After Coleman took offense to Rancic saying her faux-locks made her look like she “smells like patchouli oil and weed,” Osbourne threatened to quit the show, lashed out at the racist nature of the comments, and said she couldn’t speak further due to contractual obligations.

Rancic subsequently apologized to Coleman after a fairly significant backlash, but it appears Osbourne no longer has any contractual obligations.

“Kelly Osbourne is departing E!s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers,” E! Entertainment said in a written statement released Friday. “Fashion Police will return, as scheduled, on Monday, March 30, at 9 p.m. and no decisions have been made on her replacement.”

Osbourne’s mentioned the matter Wednesday, tweeting, “It takes a strong women to apologize & makes a forgiving women even stronger! #ThisTooShallPass.” The indication was the matter had been resolved with all parties. It appears the primary thing that passed was Osbourne’s tenure on the show. Her tweets can be viewed below.
