Nick Cannon has the word “Romantic” tattooed on his arm, and he apparently lives by that idealized belief inked on him. In a preview of his upcoming interview with Meredith Viera, Cannon revisited his previous comments to TMZ that he would “never say never” to a reconciliation with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey.

“See, I shouldn’t have said nothing,” Cannon quipped, when reminded of his comments. “I’m learning. I should’ve just ignored them, got in the car, and shut my mouth.”

Cannon recently joined Carey and the pair’s twins for an Easter egg hunt. When asked in another interview about the large “Mariah” tattoo on his back that is now conspicuous by its absence, Cannon was reluctant to use the phrase “cover up.”

“It’s always going to be there and it’s not anything that I’m ashamed of,” Cannon told Kathy Iandoli in a recent profile for Urban Ink magazine. “I just feel like now I’m at a different point in my life, so I feel like instead of saying I covered it up, I added to it.”

Cannon echoed those sentiments with Viera calling the divorce a “learning process” and referring to himself as a “hopeless romantic.”

“That will always be the love of my life…always be my family, and that’s never gonna change,” Cannon told Viera.
