A beef between 50 Cent and Rick Ross, widely assumed to be squashed, may resurface in a courtroom. The two rappers infamously traded vocal and viral disses after Ross’ 2009 single “Mafia Music” referenced a fire at a home owned by 50 in which 50’s son and ex-girlfriend lived. In turn, 50 took the mother of Ross’ child on a shopping spree and initiated talks for a tell-all biography. 50 Cent also edited himself into a sex tape of another one of Ross’ exes—Lastonia Leviston—after the previously released tape initially featured a woman engaged in intercourse with an unidentified man.

Based on court documents filed May 21, 50 Cent is denying any responsibility for the release of Leviston’s sex tape, and he holds Ross responsible for his legal fees after Leviston sued him for unlawfully distributing the video.

50 Cent’s argument hinges on an argument that he linked to the video after it was already released by a website owned by Rick Ross or someone under Ross’ control.

“Jackson did not publish the video online, but instead put an embedded link on boobootv.com to the Video that was posted on ThisIsSabrinasSin.ning.com,” the complaint reads. “If Leviston should recover against Jackson for the allegations stated in her complaint, said damages will have been caused and brought about by reason of the wrongful actions of Ross.”

While neither of the men formally made peace, in a 2014 Huffington Post interview with Marc Lamont Hill, Ross hinted at moving on from the beef with 50 Cent, saying he wanted to “keep the music first.”
